Job Details:

  • Location: St Peter & St James Hospice BN8 4ED
  • Contract Type: Full-time permanent
  • Weekly working hours: 37.5 hours (Monday Friday with occasional weekends)
  • Shift times:Working hours can be flexible between 9.00am - 5:00pm and10.30am - 6:30pm
  • Salary: 23900 - 24200 (Full-time equivalent)
  • Closing date: We will be shortlisting and interviewing as applications are received so early applications are encouraged.

Driving is not essential for this role; however due to our rural location and lack of direct public transport links candidates must have reliable access to suitable transport to attend work as required.

As Housekeeping Assistant youll play a vital role in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across our hospice ensuring a safe and comforting space for patients families and staff.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Cleaning patient rooms bathrooms communal areas and offices to a high standard.
  • Using a variety of cleaning methods and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and infection control procedures are followed.
  • Maintaining patient dignity and privacy at all times.
  • Supporting the wider team in creating a warm respectful and inclusive environment.

What Were Looking For:

  • Experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles.
  • Good literacy numeracy and understanding of health and safety.
  • A flexible can-do attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised and able to work to deadlines.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
