Software Developer Intern

ASSA ABLOY is seeking a highly motivated undergraduate student to join our team as a Software Developer Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience working within the Microsoft technology stack while collaborating with business stakeholders infrastructure teams and experienced developers to deliver reliable and secure solutions. The intern will assist in maintaining and improving existing legacy applications by troubleshooting issues supporting minor enhancements and participating in incremental modernization addition the intern will contribute to the design and development of new applications using modern frameworks Azure cloud technologies and industry best practices.

This position will be situated on-site in Berlin CT and report to the Director of Applications Developmpent.

What you will be doing

Assist in building and enhancing frontend applications using React while supporting and maintaining existing React and Angular applications under the guidance of senior developers.

Experience or familiarity with legacy frameworks and technologies such as web forms is a big plus.

Develop and maintain backend scripts APIs or automation tools using Python to support data processing ETL processes system integrations and internal tooling initiatives.

Assist in debugging troubleshooting and resolving application defects performance issues security vulnerabilities and integration challenges.

Help maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation for both legacy and newly developed systems.

What we are looking for

Currently pursuing a Computer Science or a related field.

Foundational knowledge of C# Python and Framework / .NET Core with hands-on academic internship or personal project experience developing applications.

Exposure to developing and consuming RESTful APIs using / Core and/or Python-based frameworks (such as Flask or FastAPI) through coursework or projects.

Basic familiarity with Azure cloud services such as App Service Storage or other related resources and an interest in learning cloud-based application deployment and management.

Understanding of CI/CD concepts version control (e.g. Git) and exposure to tools such as Azure DevOps (or similar platforms) for building testing and deploying applications.
