Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Java Microservices Developer to join our enterprise technology this role you will design develop and maintain scalable resilient microservices and APIs leveraging Java Spring Boot and related frameworks. Your expertise will support the delivery of high-performance backend solutions with a focus on secure and efficient systems integration. Working within an Agile environment you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve architecture performance and quality standards in alignment with business objectives.

Software Requirements

• Required: Java 8 Spring Boot (version 2.0) JPA Hibernate Spring Boot JDBC Hazelcast SQL (PostgreSQL or Oracle) Git JIRA Confluence Maven Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Preferred: Spring WebFlux (reactive programming) Kafka or IBM MQ Docker Kubernetes CI/CD tools (Jenkins Buildkite) cloud deployment experience (AWS Azure GCP)

• Experience Level: 5 to 6 years of hands-on Java development focusing on microservices architecture

Overall Responsibilities

• Develop test deploy and enhance scalable Java microservices and REST APIs supporting enterprise business functions

• Incorporate core Java programming principles including data structures streams and design patterns into production-quality code

• Implement messaging systems such as Kafka or IBM MQ to enable reliable asynchronous communication among microservices

• Optimize database interactions through JPA Spring Boot JDBC and SQL working with PostgreSQL or Oracle databases

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions

• Conduct code reviews ensure adherence to coding standards and promote best practices for maintainability and scalability

• Troubleshoot issues promptly conduct root cause analysis and resolve both technical and performance problems

• Support automation of deployment pipelines and system performance tuning to ensure scalable and dependable deployment cycles

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including system architecture API specifications and operational procedures

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Programming Languages:

  • Essential: Java (version 8) core Java streams data structures design patterns

  • Preferred: Spring WebFlux (reactive programming) Kotlin or Scala for microservices development

• Databases/Data Management:

  • PostgreSQL Oracle JPA Hibernate Spring Boot JDBC schema design query optimization

• Cloud Technologies:

  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure) for deployment and scaling (preferred but not essential)

• Frameworks and Libraries:

  • Spring Boot Spring Data Hibernate Kafka IBM MQ Hazelcast OpenAPI/Swagger for API documentation

• Development Tools & Methodologies:

  • Git Jenkins Maven CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite or Jenkins) Agile Scrum TDD/BDD (JUnit Cucumber Rest Assured)

• Security & Protocols:

  • OAuth2 JWT API security best practices encryption standards secure authentication mechanisms

Experience Requirements

• 5 years of professional experience developing deploying and maintaining Java microservices

• Proven expertise with messaging queues such as Kafka or IBM MQ for decoupled service communication

• Strong knowledge of relational databases including SQL query optimization and schema design for PostgreSQL or Oracle

• Experience working within Agile teams conducting code reviews and implementing CI/CD pipelines

• Industry experience in finance banking or fintech sectors is advantageous but not mandatory; equivalent large-scale enterprise experience is acceptable

Day-to-Day Activities

• Design develop and maintain microservices architecture aligned with business and technical requirements

• Review code mentor junior developers and enforce coding best practices

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks bugs and integration issues

• Collaborate with product managers and quality teams to ensure features meet functional and non-functional requirements

• Participate actively in sprint planning stand-ups and reviews to foster continuous improvement

• Conduct performance tuning database query optimization and system monitoring

• Document system designs API specifications and deployment procedures effectively

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field; equivalent experience acceptable

• 5 years of dedicated experience in Java microservices development in enterprise environments

• Relevant certifications in Java cloud platforms or microservices architecture are advantageous

• Strong analytical mindset problem-solving skills and excellent communication capabilities

• Willingness to learn new frameworks tools and industry best practices to stay current in evolving technologies
