Adult Education Specialist Data Analyst

Job Goal:
To provide compliance support and technical assistance to the GCWB AEL Program. Mange analyze and produce reports related to student performance and program effectiveness for the adult education service providers within the Gulf Coast Workforce Board (GCWB) area. Responsible for querying large data sets creating data visualization utilizing Microsoft Excel Tableau or Power BI to facilitate compliance with state reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree required
- Min of 2 years experience with data analysis research or similar role
- Texas Teacher Certification preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of Adult Education and Literacy programs: ABE ASE GED ESL Career Pathways IET and Academy Models
- Understanding of federal and state AEL objectives TEAMS data professional development requirements and various community resource networks in the GCWB area
- Strong public relations organizational training presentation and data management skills.
- Ability to use technology effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP Pivot Tables Macros)
- Proficient in SQL Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Effective in compiling reports and development of training materials
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for reviewing and monitoring consortium data in the Texas Educating Adults Management System.
- Analyze student-level data in TEAMS to ensure provider adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Collect review and submit all required documentation for all existing users and new users who need TEAMS access in accordance with TWC access guidelines.
- Review and monitor data to ensure providers accurate entry of data monthly in accordance with the Texas AEL Performance Guide.
- Collect review and approve invalidation requests from direct service providers.
- Review consortium data in TAMS and complete required Quarterly Data Sign-Off and Final Data Sign-Off.
- Employ data analytics to measure participants educational performance student transitions into post-secondary education and training workforce completion.
- Utilize data analytics to provide technical assistance to providers to aid in meeting performance requirements and for continuous improvement.
- Work directly with GCWB in generating reports and data requests from TEAMS
- Serve as the liaison for the non-direct service providers in obtaining follow-up information for TEAMS entry.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Equipment used: Standard office and classroom equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Working Sites:
- Region 6 ESC
- Occasional travel within the GCWB geographic area
Working Conditions:
- Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
- Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
- Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours outside of the standard 8:00 am 4:30 pm.
- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
