Job Summary
An Outstanding and high-performing secondary school in Bristol is seeking an ambitious Second in Charge of Science (2iC Science) to join its successful department from April.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Science teacher looking to step into a leadership role while continuing to deliver high-quality teaching in a thriving academic environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Science across KS3 KS4 & KS5 while supporting the Head of Department in the leadership and development of the Science faculty.
The role will include:
Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 4 & 5
Supporting the Head of Science with departmental leadership and development
Helping drive high standards of teaching and learning across the Science department
Monitoring student progress and supporting strategies to raise attainment
Supporting curriculum planning and the development of schemes of work
Mentoring and supporting colleagues within the department
This role is ideal for a strong classroom practitioner looking to develop leadership experience in a well-established department.

The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)
Strong subject knowledge in Science
Ability to teach Science across KS3 KS4 & KS5
Experience supporting departmental initiatives or leadership responsibilities
A proactive collaborative approach to teaching and leadership
