Position: Diagnostic X-Ray / CT Technologist
Location: Ottumwa IA 52501 (on-site)
Position Summary
The staff technologist is responsible for performing radiographic exams (including portables surgery and trauma) and CT procedures as needed. The role may also support clerical/secretarial tasks related to patient care during weekends evenings nights and holidays and may assist with Quality Improvement projects. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Essential Functions
- Perform high-quality radiographic procedures including portables surgery and trauma imaging.
- Perform CT procedures and radiographic procedures as assigned.
- Operate radiographic equipment safely and demonstrate appropriate care of equipment.
- Follow radiation protection standards for patients self and others.
- Assist with front office/clerical duties when necessary.
- Participate in identifying quality and safety concerns and support Quality Improvement efforts.
- Assist with duties associated with daily operations of Imaging Services.
Must-Haves
- Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT registered or registry eligible with a current Iowa Permit to Practice
- BCLS required upon hire
Preferred / Nice-to-Haves
- CT experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (MEDITECH) and PACS
- Strong customer service communication and basic computer skills
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and caring manner
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently complete tasks and adjust to high-volume workloads
- Positive interactions with patients physicians and staff
- Demonstrates ethical and professional conduct
