Manual & Functional QA Engineer **Position:** QA Engineer (Manual & Functional Testing) **Experience:** 5 8 Years **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Location:** Gurgoan --- ## Role Overview We are looking for an experienced **Manual & Functional QA Engineer** responsible for validating business workflows ensuring product quality and preventing production defects. The candidate should be strong in requirement analysis test design and end-to-end functional validation across web applications and APIs. You will work closely with Product Managers Developers and Support teams to ensure high-quality releases and stable production deployments. --- ## Key Responsibilities ### 1 Functional & Manual Testing * Analyze BRDs PRDs and user stories to understand business workflows * Prepare: * Test scenarios * Test cases * Test data * Perform end-to-end functional testing * Conduct regression sanity and exploratory testing * Validate UI workflows calculations and data consistency * Identify edge cases and negative scenarios --- ### 2 API & Integration Testing * Validate REST APIs using tools like Postman/Swagger * Verify request/response structure and business validations * Test authentication and authorization flows * Perform integration testing across microservices --- ### 3 Database Validation * Write SQL queries to validate backend data * Validate data integrity and transaction consistency * Work with databases such as: * PostgreSQL * MySQL * MongoDB (basic validation) --- ### 4 Release & Production Validation * Participate in sprint grooming and requirement discussions * Perform release validation and smoke testing * Support UAT and production verification * Coordinate with support teams for defect verification --- ### 5 Defect Management & Documentation * Log and track defects using tools like Jira/Azure DevOps * Provide clear reproduction steps and impact analysis * Perform RCA verification after bug fixes * Maintain test documentation and traceability matrix --- ## Required Skills * Strong experience in **manual and functional testing** * Expertise in requirement analysis & business logic validation * Hands-on API testing experience (Postman) * Good SQL knowledge for data validation * Experience testing web-based applications * Understanding of SDLC & STLC * Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams --- ## Good to Have * Basic automation exposure (Selenium/Cypress not mandatory) * Knowledge of microservices architecture * Experience with logs and basic debugging * Domain exposure to finance analytics or enterprise applications --- ## Soft Skills * Strong analytical thinking * Attention to detail * Good communication with product & dev teams * Ownership mindset and accountability --- ## Success Metrics * Low defect leakage to production * Quality of test coverage * Requirement understanding accuracy * Timely release certification * Clear defect reporting & RCA validation ---
