Job Description:
L3Harris in San Diego CA is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support the design and manufacturing of Special Test Equipment (STE) for Space Telemetry and RF Products. As a Test Engineering Technician you will be directly involved in assembly and integration and test of STE. This includes assembling cables assembling and/or reworking Printed Wiring Assemblies (PWAs) integrating RF equipment/devices and digital or analog equipment and devices to our automated test racks. You will be responsible for performing design verification testing and troubleshooting as well as to be a liaison between engineering and production test teams.
Essential Functions:
- Build automated test racks and other special test equipment (STE)
- Independently perform verification testing of circuit cards and higher-level STE assemblies
- Troubleshoot STE hardware and cables to the component level
- Write and modify verification test procedures with minimal engineering assistance
- Build and assemble Cables and PWAs for use on or with Special Test equipment
- Provide STE field support to production teams including configuration of STE hardware and software.
- Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance.
Required Qualifications (one of the following):
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience
- 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience in testing and troubleshooting circuit card assemblies.
- 6 years of experience using electrical measurement equipment including digital multi-meters oscilloscopes power supplies function generators and logic analyzers.
- 4 years of experience using RF measurement equipment such as signal generators spectrum analyzers network analyzers and power meters.
- Demonstrated familiarity with basic RF parameters (bandwidth reflection S-parameters spurious and harmonic signals SNR gain compression) and basic analog digital and DC circuit parameters (voltage/current/power logic levels timing).
- Experience with military or space qualified hardware designs.
- Experience performing design verification testing.
- Experience Assembling and reworking cables.
- Experience performing tests using lab equipment.
- Soldering certification or ability to obtain one.
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and assembly drawings.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in California is$57k MIN - $106k MAX.This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
