An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to support the procurement and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects within the utilities sector.
This role will be responsible for leading contract development procurement strategy and contract administration across multiple work packages including design engineering and construction activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring contractual compliance risk management and effective commercial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead the development procurement and administration of project contracts
Support the delivery of procurement activities across multiple project workstreams
Prepare and manage contract documentation in coordination with legal and project teams
Develop packaging strategies and procurement approaches aligned to project objectives
Lead supplier negotiations and manage contractual agreements
Provide oversight and assurance across contract performance and compliance
Manage contract change processes and ensure contractual obligations are met
Monitor and manage project costs within contractual frameworks
Identify and manage commercial risks across project contracts
Support procurement processes in line with public procurement requirements
Work collaboratively with project delivery teams legal advisors and procurement functions
Minimum 10 years experience in contract management within infrastructure utilities or major capital projects
Experience developing and managing complex contracts across large projects
Strong knowledge of public procurement frameworks within the utilities sector
Experience with major contract forms such as NEC and FIDIC
Knowledge of different delivery models including EPC DB DBB DBO DBFO and PPP
Experience administering design and construction contracts
Strong commercial awareness including cost management and risk allocation
Proven experience negotiating and managing supplier contracts
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline such as:
Construction Management
Quantity Surveying
Engineering
Construction Law
Commercial Management
Professional certifications in commercial or contract management are advantageous.
Demonstrated experience working in complex infrastructure or utilities projects
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Required Skills:
Degree in business supply chain engineering or related discipline (preferred) Procurement certifications such as CIPS are advantageous Additional Requirements Experience within utilities sectors such as energy gas water or infrastructure is highly desirable
