This position is specific for our Investigational Drug Services Pharmacy. This is a small team that works closely with the Research groups at Corewell Health when medication is necessary for the clinical trial. An Investigational Drug Service (IDS) Pharmacy Technician supports clinical trials by managing preparing and dispensing research medications under pharmacist supervision ensuring protocol compliance and patient safety. Key duties may include inventory control strict protocol adherence and specialized compounding. Training in non-sterile and sterile compounding both non-hazardous and hazardous is preferred or will be taught as part of job training.
Under the direction of a Pharmacist provides technical assistance processing and preparing medications and supplies. Works with multiple medication automation systems. Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas. Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members. Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites sterile product compounding controlled substance handling inventory management).
