About the role.
As a Shift Manager within our Prepared Foods team in Ballarat youll be responsible for the forward planning leadership and daytoday management of processing and packing shifts. Youll guide a diverse team drive performance across safety quality cost delivery people and environment and ensure smooth compliant and efficient operations. This role is critical in sustaining a strong production culture and enabling continuous improvement across the site.
About You.
What youll be doing.
- Championing a strong Health & Safety culture leading incident investigations and ensuring compliance.
- Leading and developing your team through coaching training capability planning and effective labour coordination.
- Overseeing shift operations to meet production quality and food safety standards including HACCP GMP and internal audit requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives including MDI Kaizen activities and implementation of bestpractice processes.
- Managing operational performance by monitoring costs efficiencies waste reduction and shift KPIs.
- Ensuring environmental responsibilities are met by reducing waste and supporting operator awareness and compliance.
What youll need to be successful.
- Experience in food processing or manufacturing environments ideally with exposure to safety GMP HACCP quality and environmental systems.
- Proven leadership capability with experience guiding teams through change and building an engaged highperforming workforce.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and all levels of the business.
- Effective problemsolving skills and the ability to think logically and make sound operational decisions.
- Resultsoriented mindset with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deliver improvements in fastpaced environments.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications and comfort working with data and performance metrics.
- Background/experience in FS&Q would be highly regarded
- Proven experience in leading and managing change
About the team.
Youll be part of the Prepared Foods production team reporting to the Production Manager Ballarat. The team works collaboratively across Quality Safety and Continuous Improvement to deliver strong shift performance. Youll lead a diverse group of operators and contribute to a learningfocused culture built on coaching capability development and positive engagement. Your role is central to ensuring smooth daytoday operations and maintaining compliance across safety quality and environmental standards.
