What you will be doing in this role

As an Assistant in Nursing within our Perioperative team you will play an important part in ensuring patients feel safe prepared and supported prior to surgery.

Working closely with Registered Nurses and the broader perioperative team you will be responsible for checking patients in before surgery assisting with pre-operative preparation confirming documentation and supporting patient flow to ensure theatre lists run efficiently and safely. You will provide reassurance and compassionate care to patients who may be feeling anxious prior to their procedure. Maintaining patient dignity privacy and safety will always be central to your work.

This is a role that values consistency reliability and commitment. We are looking for someone who is eager to become a valued long-standing member of the team and contribute to a positive and professional theatre environment.

Whowere looking for

We are seeking dedicated and reliable AINs that are passionate about joining ourTheatres team working within pre-operative admissions. This role is ideal for a first- or second-year Bachelor of Nursing student seeking consistent clinical exposure or for an experienced AIN who is passionate about remaining in the AIN role and building a long-term career within perioperative services.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent
  • Enjoy working in a structured clinical environment and understand the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in surgical settings.
  • Previous acute hospital experience (desirable)
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills dependable and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shift times to meet the needs of the service
  • Full Australian working rights
