Job Summary

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canadas only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility Westridge Marine Terminal with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As a federal Crown corporation Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.

Trans Mountain is seeking an experienced valuesdriven Facilities Planning Specialist to lead space planning workplace design and facilities coordination across multiple corporate locations. This role provides technical expertise in space reconfiguration furniture planning and budgeting and the delivery of office buildouts renovations and relocations. Working in close partnership with Facilities leadership and Team internal stakeholders and external vendors the position ensures the development of functional safe and costeffective work environments while maintaining rigorous oversight of budgets documentation and operational continuity.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills understanding of budgeting and building processes and effective interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Space planning and reconfiguration of existing space to align with business requirements.
  • Provides conceptual drawings of potential lease hold spaces for presentation purposes.
  • Participates with the Facility Manager in the design of new space build outs (new office locations).
  • Responsible for furniture requirements for facilities managed by the Facilities team and provides expertise to all field locations where required and requested.
  • Sources and budgets furniture purchases for all locations.
  • Assume oversight of the Calgary Facility when the Facility Manager is traveling or absent.
  • Travel to any of the Facilities managed sites for a site visit or review or to oversee a project.
  • During projects assist with preparation of newly built out space regarding furniture placement and workspace additions such as whiteboards bookcases keyboard trays nameplates and office numbering.
  • Assist in furniture quotations and cost tracking.
  • Maintains strong vendor network and relations to be able to get things completed in a timely manner.
  • Lead the third-party contractors/vendors for projects related to operating and maintaining properties which also includes assurance that service providers/vendors comply with insurance and WCB documentation to meet the building management standards.
  • Direct responsibility for Calgary head office Burnaby Regional office and Edmonton Regional office.
  • Works with field locations with respect to requests for additional space.
  • Completes the required drawings for the contractors to utilize for construction where required.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Minimum High School Education is required.
  • Over 6 years of progressive experience with corporate facility planning.
  • Facility Management Professional (FMP) designation is an asset.
  • Design knowledge and background is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting and building processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel at a senior level of ability is required.
  • Ability to read floor plans and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based systems including email Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of design and construction processes.
  • A track record of delivering highquality work managing competing priorities and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to convey information clearly respectfully and professionally.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail in a fastpaced environment.
