Role Overview:
The Head of Data Governance and Process is responsible for establishing and leading the data governance framework and ensuring that data across the organization is accurate secure accessible and used responsibly. This role also oversees the optimization and standardization of data-related processes to support strategic decision-making regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance Leadership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CDO on the enablement of effective and responsible data management throughout the Euroclear Group supporting decision-making communications and organizational alignment.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy aligned with business goals.
- Define data ownership stewardship and accountability models across departments.
- Establish and maintain data policies standards and procedures.
- Establish and lead data governance bodies and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
- Work closely with the group data management communities for the transposition and implementation of the data governance policies and processes.
Process Optimization
- Design and improve data-related processes to enhance data management data quality accessibility and usability and assure regulatory compliance.
- Identify inefficiencies and drive process redesign and automation initiatives to reduce manual data handling.
- Collaborate with IT business units and compliance teams to streamline workflows and data-centric coherence.
- Implement process improvements to reduce latency improve data timeliness and enhance operational resilience.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Monitor data usage and access to mitigate risks and ensure ethical data practices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of data governance maturity.
Data Quality & Integrity
- Define and monitor data quality metrics and KPIs across critical datasets.
- Implement data profiling cleansing reconciliation and validation processes.
- Drive initiatives to improve master data management and ensure consistent metadata standards and data lineage documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on data governance and process matters.
- Provide training and awareness programs to promote a data-driven culture.
- Communicate governance policies and changes effectively across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Management Information Systems Business Administration or related field.
- 10 years of experience in data governance data management or process management frameworks.
- Proven leadership experience in a complex data-driven organization.
- Deep understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK).
- Strong knowledge of data privacy laws and regulatory requirements.
- Strong bias towards practical solutions a solid connection with business reality and a pragmatic approach to deliver result in a steady pace.
- Strong ability to recognize synergies and interdependencies across data-driven initiatives enabling holistic and innovative approaches to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication stakeholder management and change leadership skills.
- Proficiency in data management tools (e.g. Collibra Informatica Alteryx) and BI platforms.
