Senior Data Engineer (AWS SQL Python)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the IT Front Data team and contribute to key strategic initiatives within a leading financial services environment.

You will play a critical role in building and maintaining robust data platforms that power analytics reporting and business insights across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design build and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch & streaming)
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries across large datasets
• Model and structure data (e.g. dimensional models Data Vault)
• Manage and interact with data lakes and warehouses (AWS ecosystem)
• Maintain existing data jobs troubleshoot failures and manage releases
• Perform incident analysis and root cause resolution
• Implement orchestration and automation for data workflows
• Collaborate with business stakeholders analysts and project teams
• Support onboarding of new data sources and use cases

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 years of experience in Data Engineering or related field
• Strong expertise in:
  • SQL (advanced level)
  • Python
  • AWS services (Glue S3 Redshift)
• Proven experience with:
  • ETL/ELT pipelines (data ingestion transformation optimization)
  • Large-scale data processing and performance tuning
  • Data modelling techniques (Dimensional Data Vault)
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Experience working in cross-functional teams (business & technical)

Languages
