The program
Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI) is managed by Tetra Tech on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Australia Awards is an integral part of Australias development cooperation program with Indonesia and has enjoyed strong support from both governments for more than sixty years. Australia Awards addresses two key challenges: to fill a gap in the pool of individuals with the higher-level capacity to contribute to Indonesias development; and the need for a strong deep relationship based on mutual understanding between Australia and Indonesia.
The role
The Scholar & Alumni Network Manager leads strategic alumni and scholar engagement for Australia Awards Indonesia designing and delivering high-impact enrichment initiatives and grant programs that strengthen people-to-people ties and advance Australias public diplomacy. The role develops engagement strategies that nurture cohorts of change agents builds institutional linkages with universities ministries and partners and positions alumni as influential contributors across government academia civil society and business.
Leading the Linkages & Enrichment team the Manager integrates alumni activities and grant delivery with communications and MEL ensures inclusive evidenceinformed programming and liaises with DFAT and partners to align outcomes with bilateral priorities.
Key responsibilities
Manage alumni and scholar engagement programs that nurture cohorts of change agents build affinity with Australia and extend their influence across government civil society academia and business.
Manage and oversee the AAI Grants Program ensuring alignment with DFAT objectives and inclusion outcomes.
Build and sustain institutional linkages between Australian and Indonesian universities ministries and professional associations leveraging alumni to deepen bilateral cooperation and organisational partnerships.
Provide strategic leadership to the Linkages and Enrichment team ensuring alumni experiences are integrated into communications MEL frameworks and reporting while delivering inclusive high-quality and innovative programs.
Coordinate high-impact alumni/scholar networking and engagement events.
Support GEDSI programs ensuring alignment with inclusive development principles and measurable impact.
Mainstream inclusivity across all activities ensuring active participation of women persons with disabilities and other underrepresented groups.
Selection criteria
Tertiary qualification in international relations development education public policy communications or equivalent experience
Proven experience designing and delivering complex alumni enrichment or professional development programs in international or development contexts
Track record building engagement strategies networks and longterm stakeholder relationships
Experience liaising with government universities and professional bodies in bilateral settings
Strong team leadership strategic planning and integration with public diplomacy/partnership objectives
Outwardfacing politically/culturally astute creative inclusive and committed to quality and impact
