Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canadas only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility Westridge Marine Terminal with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As a federal Crown corporation Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.

With our expanded pipeline system now in place Trans Mountain provides enhanced direct access for Canadian crude oil to world markets. The expansion realizes a world-class system for oil transport developed to Canadas high standards within one of the most stringent regulatory regimes in the world creating long-term economic benefits enhanced marine protection enhanced safety and emergency management capabilities and enhanced skilled-worker capacity building in communities and Indigenous groups.

Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative motivated and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Travel and Logistics this position you will serve as the Companys Subject Matter Expert on corporate travel and corporate logistics matters. Backed by the Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Finance departments this role provides trusted strategic guidance robust analysis and actionable market intelligence to Trans Mountain leadership and staff.

The Advisor is accountable for championing policy compliance across the organization and for ensuring that travel and logistics activities align with corporate standards risk thresholds and operational priorities.

The successful candidate will lead the development and communication of travel and logisticsrelated policies provide informed consultation to stakeholders at all levels and deliver training that reinforces compliance and best practices. They will also offer handson support maintain robust documentation and ensure that clear consistent communication is embedded across all channels related to travel and logistics.

Additionally the Travel & Logistics Advisor will manage the strategic relationship with Trans Mountains corporate travel provider and logistics service partners driving continuous improvement and cost optimizations operational efficiencies and measurable performance enhancements in service delivery and associated processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in Incident Command System (ICS) Logistics Section roles for emergency response and may be involved in incident management and/or support. This role is expected to understand the emergency management plans and/or business continuity plans and is expected to maintain assigned training.
  • Develop and deliver training to stakeholders and champion strategies and initiatives to address issues related to compliance with relevant finance travel and supply chain policies processes and procedures.
  • Maintain cross functional relationships and communicate professionally with all levels of the organization while advocating for compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage the strategic relationship with the Corporate Travel vendor to ensure seamless delivery of services travel cost optimization and enforcement of company travel policy.
  • Provide advice and support to the Company on event management and/or complex logistics projects as required.
  • Serve as corporate resource for planning organizing and executing special events including in-person and virtual events across the Company.
  • Responsible for SCMs activities pertaining to logistics and transportation management including managing contracts with courier companies custom brokers freight forwarding and transport companies.
  • Advise leaders and colleagues on a broad range of logistics matters including trade compliance material expediting and INCO terms as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of relevant policies procedures and reports.
  • Lead strategic initiatives for travel and logistics spend categories to ensure excellent value and exceptional service for the Company.
  • Collaborate with IT in selecting and implementing technological solutions to support the travel and logistics processes and user experience.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Bachelors degree in business administration Supply Chain Management Travel & Tourism Logistics Communications and/or professional certification in similar fields (e.g. Logistics Communications Customs etc.) is required.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience required.
  • Previous experience of working in a corporate environment and interacting with a diverse range of individuals and business functions is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Methodical and thorough mindset.
  • Ability to build and maintain robust organizational processes.
  • Capacity to handle complex tasks and move quickly.
  • Functional and technical competencies in logistics supply chain management and/or customs & trade compliance.
  • Familiar with corporate travel airlines and hotel industry business practices.
  • Adaptable and flexible attitude with ability to shift priorities as needed.
  • Determination in enforcing policies even when faced with resistance.
  • Strong adherence to process and attention to detail.
  • Diplomacy when dealing with individuals across full scope of the organization.
  • Proven problem-solving skills even under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and driven towards continuous improvement.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Calgary AB.
  • Some travel required to sites within business jurisdiction and for assigned emergency response duties.
  • Office based work 5 days a week.
  • Successful candidate could be involved in managing an incident or have emergency response duties in a command centre environment.
