About the Role

As Teacher of Geography you will teach across KS3KS5 with a strong focus on GCSE and A-Level. You will deliver engaging well-structured lessons that develop deep geographical understanding and strong analytical and evaluative skills.

You will deliver lessons that:

  • Build strong place knowledge and understanding of physical and human processes

  • Develop map graph and data interpretation skills through regular practice

  • Strengthen enquiry thinking through contemporary case studies and investigation-style learning

  • Improve extended writing and evaluation through modelling scaffolding and deliberate practice

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations through precise feedback and strong exam technique

There is scope to contribute to enrichment such as fieldwork opportunities geography clubs sustainability projects lectures and university pathway support.

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in Geography or a closely related subject

  • Hold QTS (e.g. PGCE School Direct) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Have the ability to teach Geography confidently to GCSE and A-Level

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to academic standards

  • Deliver engaging well-structured lessons that stretch and support students

  • Contribute positively to departmental planning and wider college life

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
