One of the countrys friendliest racecourses with a reputation for a warm welcoming atmosphere. Set in central Wolverhampton with a busy and exciting fixture list including the Lady Wulfruna Listed Race in March.

About the role:

As a Casual Stable Staff member youll help with the maintenance preparation and presentation of the racecourse stables. This will mainly involve cleaning out stables to a high standard and making sure everything is ready for upcoming race meetings.

Youll work as part of a team and follow instructions from the Clerk of the Course or Estates Manager.

The job will be approximately 25 hours per week additional hours may be necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Were looking for someone reliable practical and happy to get stuck in. Any issues or problems should be reported to your supervisor so they can be dealt with quickly.

The person we are looking for as Casual Stable staff member.

• To take full responsibility for:
  • The Stables (upto 102 in total) Veterinary Treatment box and Sample area
  • Maintain correct documentation & registers
  • The Stables ground & surrounding area
  • The Stables office
  • CCTV
  • Liaise with the Clerk of the Course/Estates Manager in terms of any supplies required
  • Overseeing that the Sample Unit remains secure and that samples are handed directly to the agent upon collection.
• Ensure the stables have been cleaned out to a high standard according to the BHA guidelines and ARC Standard. This may be a mixture of a Level 1 clean removing any soiled bedding or removing the entirety of the bed if the horse has been fed in the stable before disinfecting/ Level 2 clean removing all bedding and pressure washing the stable leaving it to dry before bedding down and disinfecting.
• Under the direction of the Clerk of the Course carry out a maintenance programme for the course. The work entails working outside in changing and often inclement weather conditions and can be physically demanding.
• You will be required to use various gardening agricultural equipment machinery vehicles and chemicals in the process of carrying out your duties.
• Abide by all regulations and safe working practices in accordance with current legislation and as detailed in the Companys Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
