Job Summary

Would you like to join a dynamic and highly successful Mechanical and Electrical Engineering contractor known for delivering innovative and technically challenging building services solutions to the Commercial Residential Mixed-Use Hospitality and Mission Critical Data Centre sectors

Applying your expertise as Senior Mechanical Estimator will enable the continued success of in growing the business order book of MEP projects which range in value up to 25m and include a number of high-profile clients across a range of sectors and building types.

Role
Reporting directly into the Estimating Director as Senior Mechanical Estimator you will assist with reviewing all tender documentations understand potential risks and provide key information to the contract team. Requirements
As Senior Mechanical Estimator you will be driven to deliver quality projects take pride in your work be driven to succeed with a willingness to take ownership and responsibility for your projects and the teams working on them where building and managing relationships is key.

Ideally qualified with a HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
A solid working knowledge of Microsoft packages; Outlook Excel and Word.
A solid working knowledge of the Estimation application in Trimble.
A proven track record of carrying out a similar role estimating Commercial Residential Education or Mission Critical projects up to 5M.

Have great communication skills and able to work under with tight deadlines

Responsibilities
The role of Mechanical Estimator is to plan implement and deliver tenders where you will have overall responsibility for the preparation of all tenders from receipt to director Sign Off.

Attend all necessary site surveys and client meetings
Review tender documents and ensure compliance
Identify value engineering solutions to create a commercial advantage over competitors
Submit enquiries for all required materials liaising with specialist subcontractors to ensure compliance with the tender documents
Prepare offer letters detailing tender qualifications and particulars
Ensure all tenders are chased and that all managers and directors are kept informed of the bid prospects
Improve projects financially through better buying and sub-contractor analysis.
Attend all weekly Estimating meetings and Engineer Handover meetings.
Assist the team throughout the project until Practical Competition when needed.
Provide the Estimating Manager with reports on time as requested

Required Experience:

Senior IC

Ideally qualified with a HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
