Our Multi-modal Manufacturing Facility (MMF) in Pune plays a crucial role in manufacturing key aerospace components supporting not only Indias defense and commercial sectors but also global aviation supply chains. Role & Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership
- Lead direct material sourcing and end-to-end material fulfilment primarily for aerospace operations with accountability for select non-aviation supply categories.
- Define and execute sourcing strategies that support safety quality delivery and cost objectives.
Sourcing & Commercials
- Own supplier scouting selection RFx negotiations and contracting to secure best total cost quality and commercial terms.
- Deliver annual productivity cost-out and cash improvement targets including payment terms and inventory-related cash.
Material Fulfilment & Planning
- Lead fulfilment performance for aviation operations ensuring on-time-in-full (OTIF) delivery high material availability and healthy inventory levels to support production and customer demand.
- Partner with Materials Planning and Operations on capacity planning constraints management escalation and recovery plans.
Supplier Management & Risk
- Manage executive-level relationships with key suppliers for critical commodities.
- Drive supplier SQDC (Safety quality delivery Cost) performance and adherence to aerospace standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks lead dual-sourcing qualification and localization strategies and maintain robust business continuity plans.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate closely with Engineering Quality Programs Finance and Operations to align sourcing decisions with product roadmaps technology strategies and industrialization plans.
- Support new product introductions design-to-cost and value engineering initiatives through early supplier engagement.
People Leadership
- Build lead and develop a high-performing sourcing and fulfilment team.
- Set clear priorities and governance provide coaching on analytics and negotiation and foster a culture of accountability continuous improvement and customer focus.
Performance Management & Governance
- Own key performance indicators including OTIF material availability inventory turns cost productivity and supplier performance metrics.
- Establish robust reporting cadence reviews and escalation mechanisms; present status risks and recovery plans to senior leadership.
Compliance & Ethics
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies export control ESG and all applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Uphold high standards of integrity and compliance in all supplier and internal stakeholder interactions.
The Ideal Candidate:
Ideal candidate is an experienced aerospace sourcing and fulfilment leader who secures best-cost high-quality on-time material supply through strong supplier management and cross-functional partnership.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply Chain Operations Business or a related field is required.
- Should Have minnimum15 years of relevant experience in sourcing supply chain operations or related fields including substantial exposure to direct materials.
- Masters degree or MBA is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience leading teams and managing people ideally including people leaders and senior individual contributors
- Strong functional expertise in strategic sourcing procurement and material fulfilment in a complex manufacturing environment preferably aerospace or closely related industries.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials components and the associated supply base as well as aerospace quality and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical commercial and negotiation skills including the ability to interpret cost structures should-cost models and financial impacts on cash working capital and inventory.
- Proficiency with data and analytics tools used in sourcing and fulfilment decision-making is a plus.
- Strong customer focus results orientation and continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication stakeholder management and conflict-resolution skills.
- High personal integrity sound judgment and commitment to compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Significant experience in aerospace industry is preferred
- Demonstrated track record of owning end-to-end sourcing and material fulfilment performance including OTIF inventory turns cost/productivity and supplier performance outcomes.
- Experience driving process improvements implementing standard work and deploying digital or analytics tools in sourcing planning or fulfilment environments.
