The Role
The Department of Education is seeking innovative and knowledgeable educators to develop courses for the Bachelor of Education program. Course topics include educational technology classroom management assessment instruction and supporting K-12 students with complex learning needs.
The candidate will ensure that developed learning activities align with the established course learning outcomes current Teaching Quality Standards and best practices in pedagogy. ABachelors degree in Education (Masters preferred) strong understanding of curriculum and experience in K-12 education are required. The candidate will play a role in expanding teacher education at our institution. The successful candidate may work remotely and this is a part-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop engaging relevant and innovative curriculum that aligns with learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with faculty members and Northwestern Polytechnic departments to ensure content compatibility and accuracy.
- Develop learning activities and selectmaterials and resources that will provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge ineducational theory curriculum understanding and teaching methodologies with a focus on belonging and inclusive education within a northern context.

RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor of Education degree or related field. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- Highly qualified with proven ability to improve instruction and meet the needs of learners.
- Experience in higher education or Teacher Education.
- Self-driven with a strong ability to produce quality work and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Curriculum development and instructional design experience is preferred.
- Creative and motivated with the ability to think innovatively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with teams post-secondary institutions and school division partners.
