Job Summary:

Join our team as an Assistant Distribution Center Manager. Youll oversee day-to-day warehouse operations lead and support staff and ensure inventory accuracy and safety standards are met. Partnering with the Distribution Manager youll help drive efficiency optimize workflows and keep the distribution center running smoothly.

Essential Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Coordination

  • Serve as acting lead and perform managerial duties in the absence of the Distribution Center Manager.
  • Supervise warehouse personnel assign daily tasks and provide direction to ensure efficient operations.
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate warehouse coverage.
  • Train mentor and support warehouse team members to ensure adherence to operational procedures safety standards and best practices.
  • Foster a positive productive work environment while overseeing the daily activities of warehouse staff.

Warehouse Operations & Shipping

  • Oversee daily receiving and shipping activities to ensure accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Coordinate and release customer and vessel orders for shipment via truck and common carriers.
  • Schedule carrier pickups and ensure proper documentation for shipments.
  • Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
  • Verify freight terms (prepaid or prepaid/add) and apply freight costs to customer orders.
  • Scan and forward completed delivery documentation to Customer Service and maintain organized filing records.

Order Processing & Customer Support

  • Quote receive and enter customer orders into the ERP system.
  • Run daily order reports at scheduled intervals to monitor order flow and fulfillment status.
  • Respond to internal and external customer calls and emails in a professional and timely manner.

Inventory Management & Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through the ERP system.
  • Receive inbound replenishment inventory and verify accuracy.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and audits investigate discrepancies and resolve inventory issues.
  • Monitor stock levels of tint bases tint colorants and other warehouse materials to ensure availability.

Equipment & Operational Efficiency

  • Tint products as required to fulfill customer orders.
  • Maintain and monitor tint equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Support improvements to warehouse layout and workflows to optimize efficiency.
  • Monitor equipment condition and ensure efficient loading and unloading processes.

Safety Compliance & Workplace Standards

  • Maintain a clean organized and safe warehouse environment.
  • Enforce safety policies and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow and promote 5S workplace organization standards.
  • Maintain accurate employee timesheet records and operational documentation.

Non-Essential Responsibilities

  • Monitor and reorder warehouse supplies as needed (monthly review).
  • Monitor and reorder office supplies as needed (monthly review).
  • Track and maintain warehouse permits and ensure timely renewals.
  • Assist with inventory counts and reconciliations during scheduled inventory periods.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide warehouse staff
  • Excellent organizational problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Solid knowledge of warehouse operations logistics processes and safety standards
