Position Summary:
Thisis a highly responsible position in which the candidate will work as part of a team of professionals providing substance abuse treatment in a residential facility. The candidate must have the knowledge skills and ability to complete intake orientation bio-psychosocial assessments and treatment plans as well as other treatment modalities while working in a structured residential facility. The candidate must also have the ability to conduct psychosocial educational groups process groups and individual sessions with adult consumers. All functions must be completed while adhering to the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in psychology counseling social work or another human service field is required; a masters degree is preferred. CAP is required; MCAP is preferred.
Preference is given to candidates with experience counseling substance abuse or dual-diagnosed clients.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Complete bio-psychosocial assessment of assigned clients within 24 hour of admission.
2. Counsel substance abuse and dual diagnosis clients individually and in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies adjusting to life and making changes.
3. Complete and maintain accurate records and reports regarding the patients histories and progress services provided and other required information.
4. Develop individualized client treatment plans within 7 days of admission based on research clinical experience and client histories.
5. Review and evaluate clients progress in relation to measurable goals and objectives described in treatment and care plans.
6. Interview clients review records and confer with other professionals in order to evaluate individuals mental and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific program.
7. Intervene as an advocate for clients or patients in order to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
