We have a brilliant opportunity to join our fantastic Older Persons team. We are the multi skilled hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers.

We work with customers who are over 55 and have a housing or support need across a mix of properties and grounds. As our handy person youll spend much of your time working across our five sheltered services.

What youll do

• Perform minor or emergency repairs decorating and cleaning in properties and communal areas.

• Handle tasks like hanging curtain poles moving furniture touching up paint changing washers unblocking sinks mowing lawns and clearing grounds.

• Carry out regular fire safety checks.

• Work with colleagues contractors and customers.

• Liaise with Customer Service Centre and contractors to report and follow up on repairs outside your remit.

You have

• A team player with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm.

• General maintenance know-how a bit of carpentry basic plumbing and confidence with a paintbrush or broom

• Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life.

• Ability to use technology for reporting repairs via email complete compliance information in the health and safety control book and complete mandatory e-learning.

• To get from A to B youll need a valid driving licence and a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that well pay your mileage!

The practical bits

• We mainly work Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm but were flexible as long as we meet our customers needs.

• Youll be based at Prospect Place and travel around the 5 schemes around Teesside.

• Occasionally youll head outside the patch for all hands on deck situations.

• Youll need a Standard DBS check we pay for it.
