Job Summary

Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required; a Masters degree is preferred. The candidate should possess good communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should have experience working with and/or teaching elementary-aged students; an understanding of the needs of students at this age; a collaborative work ethic; training/experience in reading and writing instruction; experience in mathematics instruction; interest in science content and pedagogy; a commitment to inclusive pedagogy; and the potential to contribute to student life beyond the classroom. The candidate should be comfortable with both in-person and online pedagogy and teaching platforms.

License:
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license as an Elementary Educator (K-6) is preferred.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

develop standards-based curriculum for grades K 1and 2 that align with ELA/Math/Sci standards and learning materials that are culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate.
Identify curriculum materials for the program coordinate development of materials kits and delivery to program sites.
develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
outline a process for introducing students in grades K-2 to a classroom and school community (introducing students to the daily schedule and routines and activities (e.g. morning circle month/day/year transitioning from one activity to the next) sitting at a desk and following instruction walking in a single line through the hallway eating in the cafeteria whole body listening talking one at a time in class).

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

-Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.

-Knowledge of culturally responsive practices

-Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts. Knowledge of data information systems data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
