Job Summary
Opal Foods is accepting applications for the position of Groundskeeper/Utility Maintenance person for our Anderson Farm in Anderson MO. This position is responsible for upkeep of the grounds monitoring and greeting visitors signing for deliveries accepting packages and maintaining the visitor logs. Will also maintain the roads perform preventive maintenance bird control while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations including safety bio-security and animal welfare requirements. This position will work outside and must be able to work in all weather environments. This position will also assist the Manager with other projects and duties as needed.
Position Responsibilities:
- Upkeep of grounds including weed-eating spraying weeds removing trash and mowing
- Maintaining truck disinfection stations or hand pumps
- Maintaining roads
- Preventive maintenance on all outside equipment - feed bins incline belts cool cells
- Detect faulty operations defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Staying on top of bird control
- Staying on top of outside bait stations
- Receiving of supply deliveries
Physical Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:
- Fast paced work environment
- Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis
- Bend lift pull push stoop bend and climb
- Work in a general farm environment in all different weather conditions
Requirements: (knowledge experience skills education)
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Previous experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
- Front end loader/Forklift certification
- Detail oriented and self directed
- Willing to work off schedule shifts and/or nights if or when necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in grounds and equipment maintenance related roles
- Ability to communicate in English and Spanish
