Description

Position Summary:


JGMS is seeking a qualified Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time position located on-site in Oak Ridge TN.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meeting preparation and attendance.
  • Walkdowns of nuclear facilities.
  • Review of technical documentation.
  • Interfacing with nuclear facility production and operating organizations.
  • Development and revision of NCS documentation.
  • Provide peer review of NCS documentation.
  • Updates to NCSE qualifications course materials and provide technical mentoring.
  • Other assigned tasks in support of nuclear project design and implementation.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering and seven (7) or more years of experience or MA/MS in Engineering with eight to 13 years experience.
  • Previous qualification as an NCS engineer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Nuclear Engineering.
  • Previous qualification as an NCS engineer at Y-12.
  • Previous peer reviewed experience.


Security Clearance:


The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security Clearance is required.


Background Check and Screenings:


A pre-employment drug screening and background review that includes checks of personal references credit law enforcement records and employment/education verification is required.
