Tufting Process EngineerPosition Overview
Shaw Industries is hiring a Process Engineer in the Tufting Department. This positionis responsible forcontinuously improving the Safety Quality and Productivity of the Tufting Department at Plant04.The Process Engineer will serve the Tufting Department byassistingwith the day-to-day management and implementation of the departments requirements within the carpet manufacturing process.This includes providing leadership and direction for Safety Initiatives Quality Improvement Teams Reliability Teams and Process Improvement Teams. The position provides technicalassistanceto department supervisors hourlyassociates& internalcustomers daily and provides support to the Tufting Manager.
Responsibilities:
Act as liaison between the Department Manager and department employees by providing effective lines of communication within the department.
Monitor all departmental production quality processes and procedures.
Ensureall departmental SMS procedures and instructions are followed.
Givedirectionsand support to department employeesregardingachieving departmental goals.
Assistin coordinating andmaintainingthe tufting departmentsworkforcetoensure that goals andobjectivesarefeasible.
Assistemployees in resolving any job-related problems or concerns.
Work with Scheduling on yarn issues and orders.
Work with yarn vendors and quality to resolve issues
Coordinate develop and execute departmental projects to improve efficiency productivity and quality.
Assistin the areas of S.A.F.E. ensuring that the Tufting Departmentremainswithin theset safetygoals.
Act as department driver forTPMprogram.
Coordinate and oversee the TMS for tufting.
Serve as Six Sigma Green Belt for the Tufting Departmentand work with the Tufting Department as P.I. Coordinator.
Fill in forDepartmentManageras necessary.
Attend and/or conduct weekly staff meetings with employees.
Activelyparticipatein P.R.I.D.E. process SMS and S.A.F.E. programs.
Be available toassistall supervisors with problems that mayoccurincluding but not limited to:Disciplinary action PI Process TMS quality safety equipment and training.
Perform other non-quality-relatedduties as directed by plant management.
Follow Tufting Engineer Leader Standard Work
Lead/Audit the Tier 1/2 process.
Serve on each of the 4 key leadership steering teams of Safety SLO Quality QIT Reliability TPM and People 4Rocks to help se the strategy and drive improvement in each area.
Partner with plant leadership to set plant strategy.
Perform other duties as directed by Plant Manager Production Manager DepartmentManager& Division Leaders.

Qualifications:
BA/BS degree (engineering management or similar field preferred) and manufacturing experience
Mustpossessstrong interpersonal communication organizational and leadership skills
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel Word Minitab Google sheets documents etc.
Salary Grade S05 or S06 depending on experience
