What we are looking for
As a CQA Field Technician you will assist project managers to perform third-party CQA services on construction activities for various project types including solid waste electric utility and environmental management. This individual should follow regulatory requirements standard operating procedures and SCS protocols exercise independent judgement and be able to complete tasks and projects with direction from management and provided training.
How you can make an impact
- Perform construction observation and documentation (travel expected) including construction material sample collection laboratory data management and surveying while ensuring compliance with construction documents.
- Interpret construction documents (construction drawings technical specifications and CQA Plans) to confirm projects are completed in accordance with approved plans.
- Prepare and submit daily field logs reporting data collected field observations actions taken and recommended actions to be taken.
- Report field conditions and test results to your supervisor and sometimes directly to the client.
- Perform sampling and/or testing which can include the following:
- Field testing and sampling of soil and aggregate materials.
- Geosynthetics monitoring and testing.
- Perform surveying of project features including grades material thickness and piping.
- Coordinate work with contractors subcontractors and laboratories.
- Maintain sampling and monitoring equipment (regular maintenance inventory troubleshooting and/or repair).
- Prepare documentation reports for construction activities observed health & safety plans and other work documents.
- Participate in health and safety training and verify that health and safety training standards are followed by on-site staff and sub-contractors.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in an environmental civil or construction-related field preferred
- 0 to 5 years of related work experience required
- Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required.
- Solid technical mechanical and computer skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required.
- Ability to travel overnight and work weekends.
- Ability to read drawing plan sets.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
- Experience with a nuclear density gauge for soil testing is a plus.
- Previous surveying experience is a plus.
- Valid drivers license with a driving record in good standing required.
Pay Range
USD $23.00 - USD $23.00 /Hr.
