Job Summary

The MBTA is working on supporting the frontline workforce by implementing a portable field-accessible solution to centralized safety resources/rules/procedures/bulletins that govern their work and enable remote data collection replacing cumbersome processes enhancing safety and quality. The solution entails implementing software Comply 365 and delivering mobile devices.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who is passionate about human-centered design and improving the day-to-day experience of MBTAs frontline workforce. We are building a team that goes beyond system configuration. We are looking for individuals who care deeply about how tools like Comply365 can support safety reduce cognitive load and enable field workers to do their jobs more easily confidently and effectively. The right candidate will approach technology implementation not just as a technical challenge but as a shared opportunity to improve workplace culture usability and frontline engagement.

This is a term-limited and project-specific contractor position that is not employed directly by the MBTA. This hybrid position requires being in the office at least two (2) days per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Configuration Lead design and implement system configurations in Comply365 (DocuNet PureIntel ProAuthor SafetyNet).

  • Build and maintain modular content structures metadata schemas permissions and publishing rules. Configure smart forms user views and mobile delivery based on frontline worker roles.

  • Manage content migration from legacy systems and formats (PDF paper) to mobile-optimized delivery.

  • Participate in stakeholder interviews to understand vision

  • Work closely with Business Analysts to understand validate and iterate on workflows and requirements.

  • Collaborate with Comply365 vendor consultants on design and rollout phases

  • Collaborate with System Wide Accessibility Specialists User Experience Specialists Business Analysts and End-Users on User Interface design and configuration.

  • Partner with IT for SSO integration interface support and data model alignment.

  • Leverage PureIntel to design dashboards for tracking document access compliance and usage trends.

  • Collaborate with the compliance team to build data models supporting KPI reporting.

  • Assist in defining testing scenarios conducting testing and validating business requirements

  • Act as an ambassador for both the product and the end userssupporting tech adoption surfacing practical insights and lead with empathy on reported issues.

  • Coordinate with other project team members including contractors outreach staff and MBTA stakeholders

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited institution in communications organizational psychology business or related field.

  • 5 years of experience with Comply365 including configuration ProAuthor and system administration.

  • Strong experience designing metadata taxonomies and publication workflows for regulated content.

  • Familiarity with federal and safety compliance documentation in rail transportation or similar fields.

  • Experience working with Business Analysts and participating in requirements traceability and UAT.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills across business and technical teams.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Detail-oriented and organized; able to manage multiple configuration areas concurrently.

    • Strong user empathy particularly for mobile and field-based workers.

    • An analytical mindset with ability to balance business needs and technical feasibility.

  • Experience with the Power Platform (Power BI Power Automate Power Apps).

  • Understanding of digital content accessibility and mobile usability standards.

  • Prior experience supporting or leading a Comply365 rollout for a large operational workforce.

  • Exposure to Compliance Software LMS integration or certification tracking solutions is a plus.

Job Conditions:

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check comprehensive background screening and / or medical Clinic screening potentially including physical examination and drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Ability to work all shifts and / or locations assigned directed or necessary for this position including (for some transit / operations roles) up to twenty-four (24) hours per day seven (7) days per week as necessary to accommodate severe weather conditions emergencies or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service.
  • Intern / co-op staff must be enrolled full or part-time in an accredited educational program and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for the entire duration of the internship / co-op. Additionally interns / co-ops must have valid work authorization and U.S. Social Security Numberprior to starting pre-employment screenings / pre-boarding working in their positions and throughout the duration of their program.
