Utility Billing Supervisor

Salary Range: $76356.80 ($36.71/HR) - $105040.00 ($50.50/HR)

Detroit Lakes Public Utilities is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Utility Billing Supervisor to lead our utility billing operations for electric water and wastewater services. This position oversees billing cycles collections customer service compliance reporting and supervision of utility billing staff. The role works closely with meter readers and utility personnel to ensure accurate billing timely processing of service orders and exceptional service to our community.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Manage all utility billing and collection functions
Review and process monthly three-cycle billings
Oversee delinquent accounts payment plans and tax certifications
Maintain compliance with Minnesota Statutes and City ordinances
Supervise and train utility billing staff
Prepare reports and support audits and financial reporting
Manage online billing platforms and document imaging systems

Qualifications:

Degree in Accounting Finance Business or related field preferred
Municipal utility billing or governmental accounting experience strongly preferred
Supervisory experience preferred
Strong organizational analytical and customer service skills
