Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable hard-working and compassionate Dining Dishwasher to join our team. The ideal candidate will help maintain a clean safe and welcoming kitchen environment that supports exceptional dining experiences for our residents. This position plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that every meal is served with care dignity and respect for those we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and kitchen.
- Follow all food safety and sanitization guidelines to protect the health and wellness of our residents.
- Wash and sanitize dishes utensils and kitchen equipment in a timely manner.
- Restock clean items in their proper locations for use during meal service.
- Assist in the proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
- Collaborate with dining team members to ensure an efficient meal service.
- Support the dining team with cleaning the dining area and other tasks as needed.
- Respond to resident requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist with special events holiday meals and family gatherings as needed.
- Promptly report any maintenance or equipment issues to the appropriate staff.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience in dishwashing or food service preferred. Experience in senior living healthcare or a similar setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Compassionate patient and respectful attitude towards residents and coworkers.
- Dependable and self-motivated.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a warm humid kitchen environment.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
- Ability to safety lift and carry up to 50 lbs. including hot and heavy dishware.
- Ability to navigate kitchen areas safely which can include frequent walking bending reaching squatting twisting pushing and pulling.
