The Department
The Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) The Netherlands invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. The Department seeks outstanding candidates in the broad field of chemical engineering with a focus on process technology. Areas of interest include but are not limited to process systems engineering process control separation technologies (particularly affinity separations) and biochemical process technology. Exceptional candidates from all areas of chemical engineering are encouraged to apply.
Faculty responsibilities include teaching at the BSc and MSc levels mentoring undergraduate students PhD students and postdoctoral researchers conducting original scholarly research and contributing to service activities within the Department and the University.
In addition to demonstrating research and teaching excellence the successful applicant will be expected to actively raise research funding and to participate fully in the dynamic collaborative environment of the Department.
Job Requirements
- Motivated researcher with a PhD in chemical engineering mechanical engineering or a closely related field by the start of employment.
- Postdoctoral experience on a relevant field of research is a plus.
- Ability to conduct high quality academic research reflected in demonstratable outputs.
- A strong research vision and the ambition to build an internationally recognized externally funded frontier research program.
- Motivated to teach contribute to teaching processes and to develop excellent teaching skills.
- Strong cooperation skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
- Effective communication and leadership skills including coaching and mentoring of students and staff leading a project or chairing a group.
- Excellent (written and verbal) proficiency in English.
