The Role
We have an opportunity for an OceanEngineer with interests or experience in marine forensic investigation litigation support risk loss consulting repair and retrofit design. Curiosity engineering excellence and solid writing skills arefor this position. You will have the opportunity to lead investigationsinthe seaport and waterfront-built environment industrial facilities marine infrastructure transportationsectorand high-tech applications. You will be supported in this role by a diverse multidisciplinary team ranging from entry-level engineers to senior management.
Responsibilities
We willprovideyouthe opportunity to manage projects independently and support engineers in the Forensics practice on projects as needed.We will support you in business development activities such as conferences and business development events.
You will be working directly with a wide variety of clients including attorneys vessel and seaport and terminal property owners contractors and insurance professionals on a wide range of investigations which may involve:
Mooring Towing and Anchoring Analyses
Hull Damage Assessments and Repair Plans
Dry Dock Graving Dock and Ship Lift
Structural and Material Failure Analysis
Mechanical Failure Analysis
Root Cause Analysis
Damage Assessment
Equipment Loss Consultingand Mitigation
You may be called to serve as an expert witness in various scenarios including depositions mediations arbitrations and trials.We will support you should such matters arise.
Responsibilities
- Bachelorsdegree inoceanengineering is.
- Masters degree in related field preferred.
- 12 years of experience in theOcean/Maritime field.
- Ocean/CivilProfessional Engineering (PE) License in at least onejurisdictionand the ability to obtain licensure in others.
- Ability to bring or develop abook of business.
- Ability towritereports that clearly express engineering opinions and conclusions and support these conclusions/opinions with facts and sound engineering principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines meetdeadlinesand travel to work sites.
- Ability and willingness to travel to short durations for certain assignments.
