Job Summary: | Position Description SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks to hire a Promoting Recruitment Opportunity Diversity Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG) postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology in the College of Medicine. The SUNY PRODiG Fellowship program aims to (1) increase the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity equity and inclusion; and (2) strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of those faculty. The fellow will contribute to advancing the diversity equity inclusion and belonging initiatives of the institution and will be mentored by a committee of faculty with a proven track record in supporting the career growth of early-stage faculty and an externally funded research program with a focus on health equity. The PRODiG fellow hired for this position will engage in a 2-year fellowship with a highly competitive salary and with start-up funding to support professional development. Position Summary The PRODiG fellow will engage in advanced training structured mentorship and the development of professional skills that prepare the fellow for academic positions in neuroscience physiology pharmacology and related fields of study. This full-time position will be supported by a faculty mentorship committee with a strong history of successful mentorship and independent research funding and will be guided by a co-developed individual development plan (IDP).
