Job Summary

OVERVIEW

This Intern position provides an immersive opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in project management within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Working closely with the Senior/Project Manager the Intern will support all aspects of project control assist with planning monitoring and execution of projects. This internship is ideal for students seeking a career in project management methodologies with the chance to develop foundational skills in project control practices.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules using project management software (e.g. Jira )
  • Update project plans and track progress against baselines identifying and documenting any variances.
  • Support with creating and monitoring project budgets tracking costs and managing project finances.
  • Assist in risk identification assessment and mitigation planning.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including status reports meeting minutes and risk logs.
  • Participate in project meetings and take accurate minutes capturing key decisions and action items.
  • Conduct basic research and data analysis to support project management activities.
  • Assist with communication between project stakeholders ensuring timely updates and information flow.
  • Perform other project control tasks as assigned by the Sr. Project Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Enrolled in Bachelors degree program in Engineering Business Technology Management or a related field.

Experience

  • Familiarity with basic project management principles and methodologies (e.g. waterfall Agile) is preferred.
  • Experience using project management software (e.g. Jira Trello) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).


Knowledge/Competencies/Skills

  • Excellent organizational communication and time management skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Able to work independently and in a team displaying strong interpersonal & problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic fast paced work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy are crucial as are excellent communication skills.
  • Eager and able to learn new concepts and prioritize tasks and manage time effectively while contributing at a high level to ongoing projects.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • All CM employees work 40 hours per week remotely from a Canadian home office environment.


PAY TRANSPARENCY

ExpectedCompensation:

  • A salary of $14700 for the 4-month term.
  • The salary listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and reflects working full-time hours.
