As a Legal Assistant you will be assisting the in-house legal department primarily in the Claims Department. You will be providing legal administrative support in the areas of Real Estate and Litigation. You will help to maintain calendars manage expenses prepare documents complete invoicing and organize and maintain claims files.HERES HOW YOULL CONTRIBUTE:
Organize and maintain claim files
Communicate with insureds lawyers and other external parties to gather necessary documentation and facilitate the resolution of claims
Monitor claim progress and deadlines to ensure timely processing
Maintain calendar to assist with scheduling and to keep record of deadlines
Help prepare and maintain records for litigation purposes
Assist with the preparation and transfer of documents including but not limited to: Affidavit of Documents or other discovery documents releases coverage letters etc.
Handle incoming communications related to claims ensuring they are directed to the appropriate party and documented accurately
Provide administrative support such as setting up new payee information invoicing receiving recovery payments and maintaining payment records and other general office duties
HERES WHAT YOULL BRING:
2-5 years experience as a Real Estate Administrative Assistant in a law firm setting
Post-secondary education in a related field preferably Legal Assistant Diploma or Law Clerk designation
Experience in supporting multiple lawyers simultaneously
Excellent ability to plan priorities and are highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
Superior customer service experience even in circumstances that may be adverse.
Positive attitude and good team spirit evidenced through comfort in developing relationships with people throughout the company
Total Direct Compensation:
64230 - 77180Any pay range is in $CAD. The stated pay range reflects the total expected compensation for this role (e.g. base pay plus any expected incentives or allowances where applicable)
