Job Summary

Mechanical Technician

The Mechanical Technician supports engineering and manufacturing teams by assisting with the design testing modification and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role helps ensure equipment and systems meet technical specifications by supporting fabrication assembly testing and documentation processes.

Key Responsibilities

Assist engineers with the design testing and modification of mechanical systems equipment and components.
Prepare sketches drawings and documentation to support fabrication assembly and equipment modifications.
Review project instructions technical specifications and blueprints to understand testing requirements and project objectives.
Support fabrication assembly and testing activities for mechanical systems and components.
Prepare work orders and purchase requests for materials parts or services from external vendors or contractors.
Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to address design updates manufacturing processes and assembly procedures.
Inspect technical drawings and documentation for accuracy and clarity coordinating corrections when necessary.
Evaluate mechanical designs and drawings by verifying dimensions and comparing them to project specifications.
Assist with troubleshooting technical issues and implementing design or process improvements.
Maintain accurate technical documentation and project records.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering principles.
Ability to interpret blueprints technical drawings and engineering documentation.
Ability to create sketches technical drawings and perform standard engineering calculations.
Familiarity with fabrication assembly and testing processes.
Experience using engineering design software or related computer applications.
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively within technical teams.

Education & Experience

Associates degree in Engineering Technology Mechanical Technology or related field required.
24 years of relevant technical or engineering support experience preferred.
