You will be trusted to: - Provide leadership and direction to staff. Hire train assign work evaluate and manage performance analyze compensation of subordinate staff in compliance with human resources policies and handle all aspects of staff supervision. Maintain awareness of department issues and respond to employee needs and concerns. Communicate with employees to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information. - For all departments and staff directly reporting to this position develop strategic and operating plans goals objectives priorities and procedures that are in alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the LCRA. - Develop and handle department budget for area of responsibility. Ensure expenditures are appropriate and within approved budget. - Communicate negotiate and resolve conflicts with landowners and customers in regard to transmission line and substation construction activities. - Identify and respond to business development opportunities within area of responsibility to meet customer needs of reliability and affordability. Provide oversight and direction to preparation of bids for customer-requested work. Approve bids and handles contracts for customer-requested construction work. - Provide technical oversight coordination of work and resolution of issues for transmission line and substation construction. Ensure that work activities are coordinated with Transmission Services Project Management Office (PMO) and other planning functions. - Ensure adherence to LCRAs specifications guidelines Department of Transportation NERC and ERCOT regulations and safety procedures for transmission construction and related activities. - In accordance with approved Supply Management processes and procedures provide oversight for contracts and procurement processes in department. Approve purchases and oversees budget for these items. Responsible for contract administration and budgets for all vendor services. |
You qualify with: - Twelve or more years of experience in construction operations engineering planning or maintenance of utility transmission systems or other relevant experience including two or more years of experience preparing and managing budgets and supervising employees. - A degree(s) in construction management engineering business science math or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
