  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $94423 pa to $105016 pa super


Join our Beachwatch Programs team as a Beachwatch Field Officer and play a vital role in protecting New South Wales iconic beaches harbours and this hands-on role you will undertake water sampling and inspections to monitor pollution levels liaise with local councils and ensure safe and healthy swimming areas for the community. You will record and report pollution incidents contribute to routine communications such as the daily beach pollution forecast and respond to public inquiries about water quality.

You will also support senior employees in community education initiatives assist in data analysis and contribute to resources like the annual State of the Beaches report. This is an exciting opportunity to combine fieldwork scientific monitoring and community engagement while making a real impact on public health and the environment.

About You
You are an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a strong interest in environmental protection and water quality monitoring. You enjoy hands-on fieldwork and are motivated by making a tangible contribution to public health and the environment. Comfortable undertaking water sampling at beaches harbours and waterways you take care to accurately record and manage field data using established systems.

You are proactive adaptable and enjoy working collaboratively with councils communities and stakeholders to help assess and improve water quality across New South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile program combining fieldwork scientific analysis and community engagement to deliver meaningful environmental outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications relevant to the conduct of water quality sampling assessment and analysis and or experience in undertaking scientific research and water sampling to monitor pollution levels.
  • Ability to travel within New South Wales
  • Current Australian drivers licence current NSW boating licence and or boating experience and current First Aid Certificate.
