Job Title: Athletic Director
Department: Athletics
Reports To: Campus Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The role of an athletic director is tomanage all facets of an athletic program including scheduling hiring coaches promoting programs and events ordering equipment constructing budgets and facilitating operations. Athletic directors also often help fundraise events coordinate with the booster club and supervise sports personnel.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following dutiesARE NOTintended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional position-specific duties.
- Plan coordinate implement and evaluate the athletic program in accordance with the School Handbook UIL and the Education Code
- Manage all facets of the athletic program including the placement of coaches and event scheduling
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and resolve conflict in a timely manner
- Must possess a strong judgment of character
- Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills
- Serve as a Leader by modeling tenacity and heart to the organization
- May be required to teach
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Specific Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree (required)
- Coaching background (preferred)
- Valid Texas Teaching Certification (preferred)
- Minimum of three years in a classroom setting (preferred)
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Long hours of standing or performing athletic functions
- Must maintain control in stressful situations
- Frequent travel may be required including overnight travel
- Extended hours may be required
