Position Details:


Start Date: ASAP for the remainder of the school year
Hours: Full-time (7.5 hours/day)
Caseload: 1:1 with student - may also be needed in nurses office or for floating

Certifications:Must hold a CA LVN license

Compensation: Starting at $30/hour (commensurate with experience)
Location: Lompoc CA - Onsite Only

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a School Nurse to join our dynamic team at E-Therapy. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing healthcare services promoting wellness and supporting the well-being of students in school settings.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students with acute or chronic health conditions including administering medications monitoring vital signs and assessing overall health status.
  • Assist students with activities of daily living such as toileting feeding and mobility as needed.
  • Collaborate with school staff parents and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with specialized healthcare needs.
  • Monitor and document students health status and response to treatments medications and interventions.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and basic life support as needed.
  • Educate school staff students and families on health promotion disease prevention and management of chronic conditions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and ensure compliance with state regulations and school policies.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input regarding students healthcare needs and accommodations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited vocational nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of practice.
  • Previous experience working as an LVN in a school or pediatric setting (preferred).
  • Knowledge of pediatric nursing principles practices and procedures.
  • Strong assessment communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
  • CPR certification (required) and additional certifications such as First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) (preferred).

Physical Requirements (Working in a School Setting):

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk and move around in various areas of the school facility. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students staff and parents both verbally and in writing. The employee may need to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and may occasionally be required to bend stoop kneel or crouch. Additionally the employee must have the physical stamina to supervise and engage with students throughout the school day.
