Position Summary
The Accommodated Test Administrator is responsible for the coordination delivery and invigilation of accommodated testing for students registered with Accessibility Services. Reporting to the Manager Accessibility and Conduct this role ensures that all approved accommodations are implemented accurately and in accordance with College policies the Accommodation Policy and applicable human rights legislation.
As the primary point of contact for day-to-day Testing Centre operations for students with approved accommodations the Accommodated Test Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining test integrity safeguarding confidential information and fostering an accessible distraction-reduced testing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accommodated Test Booking & Administration
- Receive review and evaluate test booking requests from students with approved accommodations.
- Ensure bookings align with the Accommodation Policy and applicable guidelines including verifying accommodation details (e.g. extended time).
- Monitor testing software for new bookings and confirm dates and times.
- Liaise with students and academic departments to resolve discrepancies and support timely problem-solving.
- Provide one-on-one support to students experiencing barriers in the booking process.
- Ensure test materials are received from applicable Schools and create alternate formats when required.
- Facilitate and prepare private room testing as needed.
- Invigilate in-person and remote testing ensuring academic integrity and test security.
- Log students into password-protected computer-based tests.
- Conduct student check-in verify identification and ensure authorization to write exams.
- Maintain a distraction-reduced testing environment and ensure accommodations are properly implemented.
- Troubleshoot basic computer printer and software issues; escalate to IT Services when necessary.
- Collect and securely file completed tests.
- Address and respond appropriately to academic integrity concerns escalating as required.
- Track and document student communication in confidential record systems.
Testing Centre Operations
- Serve as the main point of contact for daily Testing Centre operations related to Accessibility Services.
- Maintain up-to-date procedures and documentation related to accommodated testing.
- Manage secure test files and written examinations.
- Recommend and support improvements to testing procedures and policies.
- Assess concerns as they arise and exercise sound judgment in seeking support from the Manager.
Staffing & Operational Support
- Assist in ensuring proper staff coverage for accommodated tests.
- Post schedules requiring additional staff as needed.
- Collaborate with the Manager to identify shift needs and operational solutions.
Student Services Support
- Compile monthly statistics and documentation on test room usage.
- Provide training and guidance to students and staff on navigating testing systems and processes.
- Identify operational efficiencies and emerging trends; collaborate on solutions.
- Handle confidential and sensitive student information in accordance with policy.
- Maintain current contact lists for academic and administrative departments.
- Participate in College and Student Services initiatives (e.g. Open House New Student Orientation).
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma in a related field (e.g. social work disability studies or similar).
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Six months to one year of experience in a related area.
- Basic computer skills.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of related experience.
- Knowledge of Desire2Learn (D2L) and MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with filing systems and College/Testing Centre policies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated professionalism sound judgment and commitment to confidentiality.
If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS WES or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire.
