Duties & Responsibilities
Job & Company Description:
Our client is looking for a competent HVAC Technician to join their operations team providing expert support across commercial and industrial facilities.The successful candidate will diagnose service repair and maintain a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration systems ensure compliance with safety standards maintain accurate documentation and deliver excellent customer service while working both independently and within a team.
The role involves fieldwork across various sites with occasional afterhours and emergency callouts.
Education:
- Red Seal Commercial AirConditioning Trade Qualification (mandatory)
- Safe Handling Practitioner Certificate (optional)
- Valid drivers licence with a minimum of 3 years driving experience (mandatory)
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Experience:
- 35 years experience as an HVAC & Refrigeration Technician posttrade qualification
- Strong exposure to commercial systems including:
- Chilled Water Systems
- Singlephase & Threephase Motors
- VRV/VRF Systems
- Split Units / DX Systems
- Refrigeration Systems
- Air Handling Units
- Experience handling multiple sites or project portfolios
- Oversight of small teams (advantageous)
Technical Skills:
- Mastery of HVAC & refrigeration troubleshooting and system operations
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and perform basic electrical repairs
- Strong diagnostic and equipment maintenance capability
Soft Skills:
- High attention to detail
- Strong customer communication and clientfacing professionalism
- Team collaboration and clear reporting
- Strong problemsolving and adaptability
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on HVAC systems
- Perform preventative maintenance & repairs on airconditioning and refrigeration equipment (cold rooms split units package units)
- Handle minor HVAC installations
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and OSHA requirements
- Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation
- Interact professionally with clients and provide updates
- Mentor junior technicians
- Be available for emergency callouts and extended hours when required
