Job Summary

Salary range is $21.63/hour to $49.51/hour with a midpoint of $32.21/hour. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint however we may go slightly higher based on experience internal equity and market.

This is a Term-Limited position with an anticipated end date of December 31 2028.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under general supervision performs technical and administrative functions and support for Fare Engagement team Fare Engagement Coordinator will work closely with Security and Fare Engagement and other internal department staff to assist in the overall coordination of services and opportunities to ensure adherence to Sound Transits mission and values. Provides day-to-day support to internal fare engagement staff including communicating with internal and external partners research reporting resource management and performance management. Will provide day-to-day coordination for the fare ambassador pilot program and any other special projects/programs assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional position-specific duties.

  • Provides coordination and operational support for the Fare Ambassador Pilot.
  • Exhibits strong customer focus and keeps all stakeholders informed of progress on a regular basis.
  • Supports the Security & Fare Engagement team with administrative tasks such as coordinating schedules maintaining records and handling equipment.
  • Supports the Security & Fare Engagement team in managing and administrating the fare ambassador pilot developing and tracking performance indicators and preparing reports for our customers.
  • Supports the Learning & Development Division and other internal partners as requested.
  • Champions and models Sound Transits core values and demonstrates values-based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: Associates degree in Business Management Analysis or related field. Three years of experience inin transportation operations field activities administrative assistance or another area demonstrating organizational ability in complex environments; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid state drivers license. Position is responsible for transporting Fare Ambassador equipment and personnel.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Work organization and office management principles and practices.
  • Customer service and public relations methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrating a strong customer service orientation with internal and external clients.
  • Communication techniques and strategies to facilitate responding to inquiries and routing calls and customers to the appropriate staff member.
  • Basic recordkeeping bookkeeping and mathematical knowledge and ability.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other agency staff management vendors outside agencies community groups and the general public.
  • Performing responsible and difficult administrative support duties involving the use of independent judgment personal initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing requirements.
  • High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint and SharePoint.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic principles practices and standards of project management.
  • Basic principles practices and standards of process improvement.
  • Systems thinking: Demonstrated ability to identify crucial functional requirements in ambiguous environments.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Work is mainly performed in a standard hybrid office and field environment.
  • Positions working in field may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery extreme weather conditions physical harm hazardous chemicals and/or extreme noise.

  • Position is responsible for management and set up of equipment such as brochures inspection equipment uniforms etc. May be subject to bending eye/hand coordination grasping reaching vision and carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds.
