Head Golf CoachThe Head Mens & Womens Golf Coach serves as the primary leader and steward of the University of Marys NCAA Division II Golf programs. This position provides strategic leadership personnel supervision scholarship management competitive oversight fundraising direction and mission integration for both programs.The Head Coach is fully responsible for competitive success culture formation compliance oversight and alignment with the Universitys Christian Catholic Benedictine mission.A key responsibility is the enthusiastic implementation of and personal investment in the Universitys Greatness Through Virtue whole-person development model.Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian Catholic Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:- Oversees Scholar-Athlete & Team Academic Success
- Exhibits a commitment to academic success
- Provides guidance to scholar-athletes to ensure there is a balance between academics and athletics that will result in satisfactory academic progress
- Must maintain knowledge of NCAA Division II eligibility requirements and guidelines
- Develops and implements criteria and success plans for academically at-risk scholar-athletes
- Oversees Scholar-Athlete & Team Athletic Success
- Exhibits a commitment to athletic success
- Achieves a competitive presence in conference regional and national meets
- Recruits high caliber studentathletes
- Demonstrates the ability to work with other members of the athletics department
- Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to facilitate improvement in athletic performances
- Oversees Scholar-Athlete & Team Compliance
- Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with University conference and NCAA rules and regulations including all aspects of compliance in operating a Division II Athletic program
- This includes all aspects of compliance oversight in operating a Division II Athletic program
- Oversees Scholar-Athlete Leadership & Whole Person Development
- Oversees Scholar-Athlete Safety Health & Well Being
Responsible for the safety health and well-being factors including:- Athletic Training
- Nutritional Instruction
- Team Travel
- Satisfactory housing options
- Clarity on team policies
- Support resources for individual counsel
- Oversees Community Integration & Connectedness
- Create community integration and connectedness through strategic marketing plans and social media platforms
- Improve the fan experience at games
- Facilitate faculty and student body involvement
- Create and establish strong traditions that promote involvement with your program
- Oversees Program Management
- Demonstrates fiscal and administrative responsibility including budget scholarships scheduling student assistance and athletic department assistance (event contributions)
- Contribute to Athletic Fundraising
- Demonstrates a commitment to the promotion and development of the Marauders Armada
- Participates in Armada activities and maintains a strong Armada Cabinet
- Create develop or maintain a sport-emphasis fundraising activity
Qualifications include:- Bachelors degree required
- Masters degree preferred
- A minimum of 3-5 years of previous coaching experience required
- Upholds and promotes the Christian Catholic Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
- Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
- Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality inthe Office ofAthletics and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedicts admonition thatall be received as Christ
Knowledge and Skillsinclude:- Understanding of the Greatness Through Virtue core strategies and being able to facilitate the growth of our Scholar-Athletes in the virtues of academic life
- Understanding of balancing a scholar-athlete academic responsibility with their athletic demands
- Demonstrated personal and professional integrity
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain a clean an organized professional work environment and keeping current with administrative reporting requirements
- Ability to prioritize workload perform work duties independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with a variety of people including scholar-athletes parents faculty and staff
- Demonstrated knowledge of the departmental needs of scholar-athletes best practices in working with scholar-athletes who are at risk for attrition and the ability to work effectively with scholar-athletes from diverse cultures and backgrounds scholar-athletes who have a disability nontraditional scholar-athletes and other at-risk scholar-athletes
- Understand and comply with federal laws and regulations that pertain to higher education
- Knowledge of NCAA Division II Rules and Regulations
