Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities
- Fills medication cassettes under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
- Prepares IV medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
- Prints out and fills label requests for First does and Stat medications. All labels and medications are inspected by a pharmacist prior to being delivered.
- Fills Floor Stock and Controlled Substances requests under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Delivers supplies and medications to other departments as needed.
- Re-packages bulk forms of medications into unit dose packaging. Completes accompanying records which are then co-signed by the inspecting pharmacist.
- Orders unpacks and stores supplies. Ensures all items are verified against invoice before being stored.
- Compiles outdated medications through monthly inspection of Pharmacy and returns to appropriate vendor.
- Performs Quality Improvement activities as directed.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an approved School of Pharmacy program at an accredited college
- Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate as a Pharmacy Intern required
Preferred Qualifications
- One to two years experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
