The Galloway School seeks a qualified and experienced educator to serve as a Second Grade Teacher beginning August 2026.
This position offers the opportunity to guide a small class of approximately 14 students in building upon their Early Childhood foundation while further developing essential academic and social-emotional skills.
The Second Grade Teacher will foster the growth of students critical thinking problem-solving and decision-making abilities through intentional differentiated instruction. Core subjects are delivered through a workshop model utilizing an advanced curriculum that integrates technology project-based learning and STEM experiences. Instruction is designed to promote discovery collaboration and student-centered engagement.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative member of the Elementary faculty contributing positively to a cohesive and professional team culture.

Responsibilities:
- Teach and manage one classroom of approximately 14 students.
- Create and maintain a structured Christ-centered learning environment that models and guides students toward responsibility perseverance compassion and open-mindedness within our global community.
- Implement current research-informed instructional practices including project-based learning.
- Integrate technology and STEM components in developmentally appropriate ways.
- Collaborate with grade-level divisional and school-wide teams.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and colleagues.
- Supervise students during assigned duties (e.g. carline recess lunch).
- Demonstrate professionalism initiative reflection and commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for the applicable grade level.
- Minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and strong decision-making skills.
- Commitment to the Christian faith and the mission of a Christ-centered school.
- Ability to successfully complete and maintain required fingerprinting and background clearances.
