Job Description:
- Performs standard nursing procedures as ordered.
- Provides health-related education as appropriate to patient needs.
- Administers medication and completes related pharmacological procedures.
- Collects data for assessment of care needs reports findings and delivers appropriate nursing interventions under the direction of a RN or Health Care provider.
- Monitors patients progress and reports outcomes.
- Completes and processes all required documentation in a comprehensive and objective manner.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current valid unrestricted license as an LPN issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by a participating Compact State.
- Current completed PSV from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
- Current completed fit testing for N95 particulate respirators.
- Current completed First Aid Certification.
- Minimum one year of past work experience in this position.
Required Skills:
Conduct patient evaluations histories and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients Manage and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension coronary artery disease atrial fibrillation heart failure and hyperlipidemia Order and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs Holter monitors echocardiograms and stress tests Assist in care coordination for procedures or specialty referrals Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable) Participate in hospital rounds discharge planning and transitions of care Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes medications and disease management Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists primary care providers and support staff
Required Education:
Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one National certification (AANP ANCC or NCCPA) BLS and ACLS certification required 12 years cardiology or internal medicine experience preferred; strong new graduates with relevant rotations or RN cardiology background considered Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable working independently with physician support EMR experience
